A Spiritual Home in San Diego
Shri Bhakta Anjaneya Temple in San Diego (a.k.a. Hanuman Cultural Center) is a growing spiritual center dedicated to serving the Sanatana Dharma community in Southern California.
Established with devotion and guided by Vedic tradition, SBATSD provides a sacred space for daily worship, Vedic rituals, spiritual learning, and cultural celebration.
The temple welcomes devotees of all traditions and denominations within Hinduism and stands as a place of unity, learning, and service.
Mission of Veda Geetha Foundation
SBATSD operates under the guidance of Veda Geetha Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the peace and prosperity of San Diego County.
Our mission is to:
• Provide a place of worship for Sanatana Dharma practitioners
• Serve as a resource center for Vedic teachings and spiritual growth
• Offer facilities for Yoga, Meditation, Cultural, and Educational activities
• Conduct free community meals (Annadana) and service programs
• Foster interfaith understanding and cooperation
• Promote preservation and propagation of Vedic heritage
Through these initiatives, the temple seeks to enrich both spiritual and community life.
Veda Geetha Foundation
Veda Geetha Foundation was established in early 2012 in San Diego by Pandit Shrikantha Shastri.
The Foundation was formed with the goal of sustaining and propagating the ancient Vedic tradition through structured teaching, disciplined practice, and community service.
Under its guidance, SBATSD has grown into a respected spiritual and educational center.

Spiritual Leadership Rooted in Tradition
Pandit (Priest) Vidwan Shrikantha Shastri is a Vedic scholar and priest residing in San Diego, California.
He previously served as:
• Sanskrit Professor at National College, Bangalore
• Faculty member at Rajiv Gandhi Samskrita Vidyapeetha, Sringeri, Karnataka
With decades of teaching experience, he has trained more than 100 disciples in Vedas and Sanskrit.
Pandit Shastri performs various Vedic rituals including Pujas, Homams, Samskaras, and festival celebrations across San Diego and throughout the United States.
He is fluent in:
Sanskrit • English • Hindi • Tamil • Telugu • Kannada
His work continues to uphold traditional Vedic standards while serving the needs of the modern community.
FIRST VEDIC SCHOOL IN SAN DIEGO
A Living Vedic Tradition
Veda Geetha Foundation established the first structured Vedic school in San Diego.
Weekly classes conducted by Pandit Shastri include:
• Mahanyasa
• Sri Rudram
• Chamakam
• Suktams
• Sanskrit language instruction
The classes have attracted more than 50 students and continue to grow steadily.
The Vedas remain as relevant today as they were in ancient times. Through disciplined teaching and devotion, SBATSD seeks to preserve and propagate this sacred knowledge for future generations.
SERVICES & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Preserving and Practicing Dharma
Pandit Shastri and his disciples offer:
• Teaching of Vedic hymns (Mahanyasa, Rudram, Chamakam, Suktams)
• Conducting Vedic Samskaras
• Celebrating traditional festivals
• Performing Yajnas and daily chanting
• Discourses on scriptures
• Sanskrit instruction

• Annadana (food distribution)
The temple regularly invites scholars from across the world to deliver discourses and engage in interfaith dialogue.
SBATSD is working toward establishing a permanent 10-acre temple campus in Sabre Springs.
